The European Researchers' Night is a public event across Europe that seeks to bring researchers closer to the general public. Funded by the European Commission, under the Horizon 2020 Programme, Scientific Excellence Operational Program/ Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions, it is an initiative that aims to break down the barriers that separate Science from citizens and demystify the image of the distant and inaccessible scientist.

"SciCli Science for Climate" is the theme that serves as the starting point for this year's activities, which aim to: sensitize citizens, in particular young people, to innovation and ongoing research for the development of technologies, industry and green transport, and to preserve ecosystems and natural resources; bringing researchers closer to urban communities, providing opportunities for these communities to express their concerns and expectations regarding the role of research and science in general to face global changes and promote sustainable growth; and draw public attention to the need to promote social cohesion and inclusion, preserving cultural identity and responding to the European Ecological Pact, general objectives of the EU Framework Programme.

The OutLab - CMAT Outreach Laboratory will promote activities related to the well-known butterfly effect, the Lorenz attractor and to the role of mathematics in weather forecasting.
