A Escola de Ciências da UMinho volta a integrar um programa universitário da Noite Europeia dos Investigadores, este ano dedicado ao tema “SCINAT - Science & Nature”.

A Noite Europeia dos Investigadores (NEI) — European Researchers’ Night — é uma iniciativa financiada pela Comissão Europeia, no âmbito do programa Horizonte 2020, Ações Marie​ Skłodowska-Curie (MSCA), que tem como objetivo aproximar investigadores e cidadãos. Este evento procura sensibilizar a sociedade para a importância da investigação científica através da interação direta entre os investigadores e a sociedade civil. As artes, humanidades e ciências são apresentadas a miúdos e graúdos de forma dinâmica e criativa. Este ano o tema central é Ciência e Natureza, e o sub-tema a Preservação do Património Cultural e Natural.

Com os constrangimentos impostos pela pandemia Covid-19, a NEI2020 está marcada para sexta-feira, 27 de novembro, das 17h às 24h, com uma programação mista: em formato online e presencial.

O consórcio de instituições organizadoras inclui o Museu Nacional de História Natural e da Ciência da Universidade de Lisboa (MUHNAC-ULisboa), a Escola de Ciências da Universidade do Minho (ECUM), a Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia – Nova.ID.FCT da Universidade Nova de Lisboa (FCT-NOVA), a Universidade de Évora, o Instituto Superior de Ciências do Trabalho e da Empresa, Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (ISCTE-IUL), a Câmara Municipal de Lisboa (CML) e a Escola Superior de Hotelaria e Turismo do Estoril (ESHTE).

European Researchers 'Night (NEI) — European Researchers' Night — is an initiative funded by the European Commission, under the Horizon 2020 program, Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), which aims to bring researchers and citizens together. This event seeks to sensitize society to the importance of scientific research through direct interaction between researchers and civil society. The arts, humanities and sciences are presented to kids and adults in a dynamic and creative way. This year the central theme is Science and Nature, and the sub-theme is the Preservation of Cultural and Natural Heritage.

With the constraints imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, NEI2020 is scheduled for Friday, November 27, from 5 pm to midnight, with a mixed schedule: in online and in-person format. The consortium of organizing institutions includes the National Museum of Natural History and Science of the University of Lisbon (MUHNAC-ULisboa), the School of Sciences of the University of Minho (ECUM), the Faculty of Science and Technology - Nova.ID.FCT of Universidade Nova de Lisboa (FCT-NOVA), Universidade de Évora, Instituto Superior de Ciências do Trabalho e da Empresa, Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (ISCTE-IUL), Câmara Municipal de Lisboa (CML) and Escola Superior de Hotelaria and Estoril Tourism (ESHTE).
